I actually enjoyed that, thought it was a good episode. Looks like there could be some interesting things happening. Tara as a vampire might be good, has to make her more interesting since she was the worst character. Also great that Pam is her maker.

Looking forward to seeing what the story is with the vampire authority, always wanted to know more about them. Of course we will have russell back and that's always good!

I was really getting bored of this show last season but that episode was great! Eric & Pam always get the best lines:)

Don't know why, but even though I know it set up a lot of arcs for the season, it felt like not a lot happened in this episode.

Just found out Eric's "sister" was played by the one who played Marion in BBC's Robin Hood. Didn't recognise her

Really enjoyed this one - Pam was hilarious. Her dry line about partying with Sookie sobbing over Tara's corpse had me in stitches. I never liked Tara either Pam :D

We jumped straight into the action and plenty set up. I want more Russell - hearing him feast behind a door isn't quite enough yet.

Wonder what supernatural element Terry's plot arc will have? Zombie?

Eric sure is close to his sister :p

Pam was great as usual and I lol'd at Newlin

I thought that was a brilliant season opener.

Pam and Jason both had some really good lines.

I'm not too interested about what happens with the wolf pack though.

Talk about being thrown into the thick of it!

Forgot a lot of what happened last season and thankfully for the recap

Really fast paced and story arcs going all over the place, hopefully it's going to be a good season after the disappointment of the last.

Not much happening in this forum, I wonder if it's because the last season destroying the fan base

Ive read all the books, admittedly its been quite a while since I read some of them so I could be wrong here. But it seems like they pick and choose between plots from the book and then their own plots. Which for me leaves the whole thing feeling a little disjointed.

It was a good opening episode. Apart from the bit with the kid sookie and tara, I was cringing all the way through that.

I think it must be a very different programme to watch if you havent read and enjoyed all of the books. For instance, Eric would never say "f*ck Sookie" in the books, so when I hear it in the programme it just sounds weird and out of character.

I need to practice on appreciating as a stand alone programme. I just wish they would either go with the book plots, or their own, but dont intertwine the two.

This was a welcome return to form. Hopefully it keeps up for the season.

I nearly gave up watching the show after last season but so glad I didn't! That was a great episode, really looking forward to the next one. Shame they keep bringing Tara back, she's definitely the most annoying character in the show, but other than that it's all good. :p

It was a good ep for setting up the season!

I LOVE PAM!! I hope she takes Tara under her wing, that will be hilarious. Well maybe, nothing is ever really funny when it comes to Tara, wish she died.

Jessica singing was also cringe worthy.

But its a promising start to the season.

Great solid start, hope they can keep it going and I'm in agreement that last years a poor with witches and Layfaette's dreams

Pam: Color me impressed, you guys know how to party.

Pam: I am wearing a Walmart sweatshirt for y'all. If that's not a demonstration of team spirit, I don't know what is.

Eric: We fight like siblings, but we fu-k like champions.

How can you not love True Blood?

I've been close to walking away from this show a good bit over the years as it's peaks are high but it's trough's are a real chore to get through. This season is defo off on a nice high and I'm liking the setup for the season. Fingers crossed it can keep it up

I'm with you on that loveisdivine. The first season was largely based on the first book, but after that it turned into a patchwork of storylines, and it often took from the viewing. I'd prefer to see Alan Ball stick to his own storyline rather than watching a confusing mishmash.

Can't wait to see Chris Meloni in character, loved him in SVU.

It should be interesting to see where they go with Tara's storyline. Seeing as so many people wanted her killed off, was this a wink wink way of doing it? Her character in the first few seasons really didn't have that much purpose. And was way too annoying at the best of times.

I agree it is a welcome return to form... unfortunately I always end every TB episode by thinking "nothing happened" - alas, it's true and always has been of the show: the first 5 minutes and last 5 minutes contain all of the action and the middle is a mess of emotions and chats.
