i had my front 4 teeth crowned about 4 months ago but ive started to notice a tiny gap (width of my finger nail) between the top of the crown and my gum. im extremly worried as i spent everything i had on the treatment and cannot afford any more work, i cant even afford the appointment to see the dentist

    is this normal?

does it sound like my gums are receding?

If its a gap then thats a problem, ie if you can get your nail into it and there is a ledge. If its recession this might be normal. Where the crown meets the tooth is called the margin. The crown should fit to the tooth without a gap that is detectable.

I would go back to the dentist and ask about it, dont accept that there should be marginal gaps and these cause long term gum, decay, aesthetic and nerve problems.

can this be fixed without getting the teeth re crowned? i cannot afford to pay 2600 again for the same treatment:(

Why would you have to pay again, its a fault with the crowns? Now it could be some recession thats you problem but marginal gaps are not.

If you paid €2600 4 months ago then they really shouldn't charge to see you for a quick check up

Don't like the look of the gum around the upper right central, defo go get it checked. Not the greatest result TBH.
