I got the bank transfer for the student contribution over a month ago, but still waiting on the registration fee cheque payment part. Crazy how long it's taking... will have started next year at this rate!

    Galway btw

Is it the council or vec - If it's the council start ringing the councillors to complain.

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

Council iirc. I might ring the grants department tomorrow and see if they remember how to do their jobs.

    Amazing...

I emailed NUIG to ask them what was going on, and was told "It is possible the cheque is still in the office however we will not be able to post it out to you. You will have to come personally to the Fees Office to collect it".

I was told on two or three occasions by various members of staff that they would be posting it out to me, and even had my address confirmed for this purpose.

I've been there about 4 years and literally not had one single issue dealt with by them without a problem.

edit: Turns out they thought I meant the maintenance grant, which I'd already received. They said Galway CC still have not sent them the money. Ridiculous. I know the backlog excuse is usually used, but I wouldn't be surprised if I'm the only one left in the country they need to process. I mean christ above, they'll be starting the 12/13 grants soon!

Finally heard back from Galway CC today.

According to them, NUIG never invoiced them for my student contribution fee.

Two months ago I was told by NUIG I would be included in the invoice.

I'm at a loss for words. It's got to the stage where if I was in Galway I would quite happily go in and do these people's jobs for them.

While this thread hasn't exactly been too fruitful, I may as well post here instead of making a new one.

The County Council emailed me on 11th July to tell me they (finally) received the invoice from the college, and have processed the payment which "should be in the college bank account on Friday, 13th July".

Unsurprisingly, I still haven't heard nor received anything from the college. Should I get in touch or wait a bit longer (it's only been around 11 months so what's an extra few days eh).
