My course is computer applications at DCU and it's 340 points, and even if it rose, if I have sufficient points to enter the course and meet all the entry requirements.

What are the chances I'll make it in?

If you have the required points, which will be released in August, the course requirements, and have filled out the CAO form with this course as your first choice, then you will definitely be offered a place.

If you have the exact points required (340 for example), and it comes up like 340* on the points list, this means random selection. In this case the remaining places will be randomly given out to a selection of people who have 340 points. You're not guaranteed to get in in this case, however in further rounds it might drop the random selection and you'd get an offer then.

Had you any other concerns as to why you wouldn't get an offer?

Ah I just had a little bit of a nagging feeling, there's like 300/400 places being offered for this course so that should be plenty.

I'm just worried about not getting an OC3 in Maths (which is an entry requirement)
