Today I was invited by a good friend to join him for the start of the Gordon Bennett Rally 2012.
The weather once again was awful but being a passenger in his 1928 Chevy was a total experience in its self. I have to say I really enjoyed the whole experience. The luncheon was held at MDL on the Naas Rd. I never knew they had a lovely collection of cars in a room which could be called a museum.
I had taken a few photos to share with you and they are below, I got some video footage as well but again due to weather conditions this wasn’t great but will post it anyhow later…

It belongs to the Flaherty Family and is one of 3 600's that are Irish Registered. There is another one with a reg number starting with PZO which is alive and well. The third one is in bits somewhere in Dublin among a few imported ones

My jaw just dropped. Stunning collection, never knew there was anything like that in Ireland. Is that a permanent collection they have over there? Is it accessible to the public, even on special arrangement?

.........there were 4 imported originally actually, the MDL one, PZO 200 (exported last year to UK), the Cork car which I am told is unrepairable and another one reg'd GZU 150 which I am currently part restoring for a customer. This car is 1968 and is the same colour as the MDL car, but with a grey velour interior.

Thanks Jack, it's been a while since I saw all of those cars and there have been some additions too.

    Some good photos there.
The weather on Friday was torrential.
Saturday was a great day, good weather and a great run.

Sunday morning I came out of the hotel to find a flat tyre and the Autovac had decided to stop working!
