    Hi, '
My dad emailed me a file he recorded on a Polaroid PDR300 voice recorder he is using for a project. He needs it converted to .WAV or similar so it's easily opened.

I spent the guts of two hours yesterday looking for programs to convert it. I started with the one on the polaroid site but couldn't get it working. I then tried about 7 shareware/trial programs and couldn't get it (.voc was not supported).
To be honest, I'm stumped and would like some advice on how to convert it!

    Thanks.

    Go to
    WWW.NCHSOFTWARE.COM

    audio section..

    www.nch.com.au

for a free trial version of their audio converters. I have been using it for years and its very good and easy to use with simple drag and drop facilities.
Here is the list of all the audio types you can work with using their software, including .voc files.

    Thanks for the reply.
I tried that program which says there is no Audio in the file. Maybe the file was not sent properly or it didn't pick up audio. It's about 12mb so I thought it would contain something.....

    Did you try Audacity?
    Switch?
    http://www.nch.com.au/switch/index.html

    Sound Convertor?
    http://www.dekorte.com/projects/shareware/SoundConverter/

    Here's an online version
    http://dinhe.net/~aredridel/devoc/
    Dunno if it works...

Audacity may open it as a raw file also...

VOC format is not a commonly used format, and most popular player software (Windows Media Player, Quick Time, iTunes, etc) and devices (iPod, iPhone, Zune, etc) do not support this format.

If you just want to play this file, Faasoft Auido Converter is a free player to play it for you.

If you insist to convert voc to wav, here is a guide at: http://faasoft.com/articles/voc-format.html

Since i have a digital audio recorder which record audio in .voc format. and i cannot play it on my iPod.

After long search, i finally find a professional VOC Converter called iDealshare VideoGo and a step by step video tutorial on how to convert VOC to WAV, MP3, WMA on Windows or Mac at idealshare.net/voc-to-mp3-converter.html

Like to share here, hope it helps more or less.
