Hi. We're having difficulty finding a home tutor for our son (age 3) who was recently diagnosed with (mild) autism.
He is entitled up to 20 hours home tuition per week and we'd like to get him started ASAP.
Does anybody know of a list of registered qualified tutors?

    Thanks for reading.

When your son was diagnosed were you not given advice as to what exactly your son would need with regard to pre- nursery/school support and given some help to find that support in your area. Depending on where your child is on the Autistic spectrum and taking into account his individual needs, would you be looking for a speech & language therapist or certified play therapist or occupational therapist?

A friend of mine rang her local primary school and asked either a resource teacher or an sna (special needs assistant) if they could recommend someone (I forget which). They couldn't recommend individuals but they pointed her in the right direction. Lucena might be able to help too?

Those private tutor hours are great - and early intervention is such an imprtant thing - good luck in your search!

Oh, and get yourself into a parent support group (if you haven't already) because they will be able to help a lot too!
