Some gob who i lent my car to has put a burn in my car upholstery. Now to be fair, he will pay to have it fixed, and it is a tiny burn..,but anyone recommend somewhere to have it fixed and is it expensive.

It is tiny but it is right between my legs on the drivers seat and depresses me every time I look at it. Only have the car a couple of months.

I had one of those smart repairs done to a hole in the driver seat, I didn't like the results so the person who caused the damage orderd a new seat cover from the main dealer for me.

I'd only be familiar with Toyota pricing, but even a seat cover for an avensis is up on a grand. Unless your seat material is very complex a smart repair is the way to go, alternatively you could get one from a damaged car.

Fitting is straight forward enough, but you have to unplug the airbag wiring, unbolt the seat, and possibly detach the back part of the seat

Some seat covers are fixed to the seat foam which has integrated wires which hog rings fix the cover too. (I used to make these for Rover) if this is the case it is possible to use small cable ties to achieve a similar result. The sides of covers generally have plastic clips that attach to the frame. If you need to disasemble the seat back from the seat from make sure you use a torque wrench to get as close to the same torque applied on re-fitting this is safety critical on seats. But you should be able to change without taking the seat out of the vehicle, it will be a little awkward though. As for price generally a replacement seat cover shouldn't be overly expensive. The dealer can certainly cost it for current model specs. If not an upholsterer or auto upholsterer should be able to help.
