New Foxing Setup

After being out with LB1980 during the week shooting a few foxes using his new laser I had to get one myself. My biggest problems with these lasers were if you could use them on their own as the Laser Genetics ones I have used had very tight beams even at their widest setting and were difficult enough to use, couple this with the crap mounts and a 600 euro price tag (for the nd3x50 subzero) it didnt really make sense. I got an "N5" which is more powerful than the N3 and came with every possible type of mount needed and a pressure switch off Ebay for under 200 euros. As you can see by the pic its mounted on top of the scope with a p7 mounted on top of this but as it turns out I wont even need the P7 as the beam on this laser I find is wide enough to scan any area. i spotted the first of these cubs at about 160 yards away scanning with the laser while it was still bright and his eyes lit up brighter than they would with any torch especially given how bright it still was and the second was shot at about 5 yards after coming running down from the same spot to my call. I got another cub and vixen later on in the same field so needless to say there was a very happy farmer:D Finally just wanted to say that I was looking at sheep over 400 yards away with this and it was like looking at them in the day time-cant believe how clear it was. I know it was my first time out and probably too early to be saying how good I found it but so far Im very impressed. I guess the biggest problem will be wether or not the cold weather will effect it but a couple of people on here who have them swear it doesnt-time will tell:P

It came with 2x CR123a batteries Spunk. Theres supposed to last about 30 hours but im sure it depends on the brand of battery aswell. I think you can get rechargable ones aswell but not 100% sure.

The led lenser m7r and the x7r have that battery in them, might pull it out and use it the next time.

Is the mount fairly stable? The nd3 has a similar mount and it would go off centre fairly often.

It's more stable than the mount for the nd3 Declan but saying that I put a tiny piece of rubber between two of the plates and tightened it up even more but it is extremely easy and quick to adjust with the thumb screw. I was lookin at pics of your new custom build. Hows it shooting - probably not a fox left between Tipp and Kerry:):) Going to head down to fergal next week myself

Thanks moby, it's shooting great and I was thinking one of these would be the icing on the cake. You won't go wrong if you take your rifle to Fergal.

The whole kit is very light. I won't be using the led lenser on top of it for a while so will be even lighter.
