I really dread the pressure it will put on my parents, but I am getting nowhere here. I am quite young and have no interest in the dole. I would stack shelves in another place until I can actually look for jobs in my qualified area. I just can't hack this failing job hunt here. I'm young and have no political sway/relations in this country, so moving abroad for a while is something I want to do for myself.

Should guilt even come into the equation? My parents really aren't supportive of this, but then again, I am not a child. Time to do this on my own terms at this point in my life.

Thank you for your advice sunflower 27, I appreciate your insight : )

Yes, the UK is a good bet, not too far but still offering a change of scene for some time. You are correct when you state that travelling is common at this stage. Just need to setup a national insurance number and some accomodation and temp work before I go. Ireland will still be here when I return!!!!

    Cheers.
