Looks like my learner permit has become a casualty of a recent handbag clear out. Oops !

What is the dealio in getting it replaced?

Did some googling on it. Apparantly, I need to go to a Garda station. Fill out a form about the DL being lost, get it stamped & take it into the motor tax office to get a replacement learner permit. Is that it? Is there anything else that I need to bring with me? Do I need to get new passport photos taken for it? Will I get it there and then, or do I have to wait for it to be mailed out to me?

I read that my permit will be a duplicate of my old one. I moved 2 months after I first got the learner permit. The lost one has an old address on it. I will be moving again this summer. What is the dealio with having an old address info on it? Will the replacement be mailed to my old address? Can I up date the replacement leaner permit with the new address? Do I need to do it again when I move? Does it even matter?

I don't plan on getting any speeding tickets, or avoiding any tolls, or getting in any accidents any time soon. But if I do get dinged/stopped/pulled over for any of that stuff, do the notification letters (about fines, summons, bringing your paperwork to a Garda station etc) go out to the address where the car is registered to, or the one on your license/learner permit? Don't want to get in any unnecessary bother over something as basic as where I live.

    Ta in advance.:D

You'll need new photos, and €12, use your current address, change of address is free when you move.
