    Hi

    Quick question:

Can anyone recommend a location where a complete novice with zero racing experience and a 2007 Mazda MX5 can go whizz ing around a track without getting in the way of anyone doing some serious driving...?

I know Mondello do it but I'm also looking for others

    TIA...

    Ron

Good question, I would like to hear also if there is some more casual place without need of booking and fat wallet..

Btw, Mondello drifting practice (=free style messing around :P) is half day for half price this saturday. 70eur for 3 hours 10am-1pm.

    Thanks.

I've never done the motor racing school. Never raced anythiing anywhere (except on the XBox and PS3!)

I might pop along to Mondello tomorrow and have a look anyway

Do not if this would be of any use but I bring my lad Karting here and see signs for Rally Car testing. Cool enough track, but just see the signs have never enquired but have seen lads with their rally cars there-not sure about just a regular car though

As a first step I'd recommend doing the Track day training course in Mondello. It'll teach you everything you need to know about doing a track day and you get to drive full pelt around a track for only €50!

That would make sense except their website shows the next track day training is January 28, presumably not updated since last Jan. worse if it's next Jan!

I emailed them last Thursday. Haven't had a response (yet?!). Also called them at 4 different times and got voicemail each time.

Not the most 'accessible' service. Maybe they want to keep us Newbies off their track ;-)

Isn't there a track in rosegreen, Cashel in Tipp? I was at it as a spectator for a drifting compition a couple of years ago. They use it for stock car racing as well:confused:

AFAICS that's just an oval track. Not really much use for a Mazda MX5 :-)

Their website states its only for properly race prepared cars / licensed drivers, needs a 15 car group to book the track and costs €100 per car per day.
