    Very interesting. I think Lotus is doomed to failure. Anyone who was following Lotus' "five model plan" knew that what Bahar was trying to do was totally unrealistic.

    He had a decent engine supplier in the form of Toyota, and decided that Lotus should develop their own range of engines instead. God knows I'm not a fan of Toyotas, but their petrol engines love to be revved, a pre-requisited surely of any sports car I would have thought. Plus they are usually fairly bulletproof, something that would be a novelty for Lotus.

    There are loads of other 'ambitious but rubbish' things Bahar was trying to do as well.

    I think it's really sad for Lotus - they have a lot of history with small, light and fun cars.
