up to date p45

Hi, I left work a few years ago, travelled for six months, came home and lived off savings. worked in a few places for a few months at a time, never got around to giving them my p45. now looking for work, do i need to have it up to date. last employer on it was 2009. thanks

Your p45 is only valid in the year you where given it

you dont need one now starting work, when you do get a job ring the tax office with your pps number and the employer number and they will send you out a certificate of tax credits they also send this to your employer
