Looking for a bull, AA or Limousin near Clare

I'm looking to get a bull for about 30 suckler cows and heifers. Will only be needed as a terminal sire and well be getting rid of him in a few weeks when all are in calf.

Easy calving is the most important factor for me as I'm part time. Therefor Aberdeen Angus look like a good bet. I just need a disease free fertile bull, but from talking to the few I've called on DD and the Journal lads are looking for 2500 or there abouts for young animals about the 500-600kg mark. Will I not be looking at a big loss if I pay this and then need to sell him in 2 months for what will likley be (just about) the beef value?

I would also consider an easy calving Limousin bull, but probably trading off a bit of the easy calving trait there.

Basically I never bought a bull before and don't want a big loss on the transaction:-)

a friendly farmer may have a suitable young beef bull looking for a free home during the grazing season. I have a few boys out on this arrangement with guys I buy animals off. They would give me first call on a few of the suckler calves and I would get back a well feed bull after the season but these guys only would have about 15 cows and plenty of grass, probably give me a few of the calves worth of money. Biggest danger is the bull gets injured, other than that its a perfect symbiotic relationship as I would only have the bull on grass anyway and the difference in performance aslong as he has plenty of grass is very little

I hadn't thought of that. Only thing there is I'd be worring that something might happen to the bull seeing that it's not mine. Always and option though and would solve the problem of loosing money on the sale.
