Terrible at map questions

I cant do them! Because I like art I spend far too much time making sure the map looks neat and perfect and I cant stop it. I never get high marks in the questions because they're a bit too vague for me. I've managed to avoid learning about maps up until now, I even got a high A in the mocks.
Do you think I should try and attempt to learn it tonight though?

Go over maps anyway, just in case you can't answer any others and you have to do it.

Think I will but I'll try to avoid it at all costs, thanks!

You should have asked earlier!! There's a really handy Revision Guide ''Shortcuts to Success - JC Geography - Maps & Photographs''.. It's an entire book dedicated to that section! It's really handy too..

I'd say definitely study it tonight. On the off-chance you have to do it. Best of Luck!

Sure there's four other questions anyway, most likely you won't even need the maps if you're already good with the other chapters.
And if you spend too much time beautifying the picture with art skills, just remember to keep it simple. Plain little things. If in a sketch map you're asked for a football pitch, draw just a rectangular green box. A church, a square with a steeple. A school, just a square/rectangle- depending on its size on the map.
Have it in your head that you need to keep it simple, but clear. And be disciplined with your time, either have a watch in front of you or a clock in the classroom. Keep your eye on it at all times and be sure of when you need to stop and move to the next question! :)

Thank you I'll definitely be strict with my time because in the mocks I almost ran out of it! You're a great help.

If you're asked on functions of a town, make sure to explain it thoroughly.

For example: Houses can be seen in the foreground. People live in houses which gives the area a residential function.

Sounds stupid but that's the way our teacher told us to do it. :p
