Renting in Canada

I was just having a look on Viewit and Craigslist for an idea on prices. Are most places unfurnised? If you buy furniture can it be sold if you leave?
Would $800/$900 get a decent one bedroom place in Toronto for example? Or what kind of monthly rent are people over there paying?

The majority of places come unfurnished. You might be able to pick up cheap second hand furniture on Craigslist. Sometimes on Craigslist people will give it away for free as well. If you buy your own furniture throw it up for sale on Craigslist. If you move into a shared house or something you might only have to buy yourself a bed and mattress....or just a mattress for the floor as some people do. Keep in mind most places will only let you move in on the 1st of the month as well.
