Surely, nobody would be stupid enough to crush that?

Having said that, I know someone who took advantage of the first scrappage scheme in the 1990s with a similar MkIII Cortina which had been inherited from an elderly uncle, was basically like new and only had a genuine 38,000 miles from new with Ford service history.

He bought a Nissan Sunny

Friends of mine traded an absolutly mint 40.000 mile MK IV Cortina for a 1997 Corsa in that years Scrappage scheme
    It was wreckless. :(

BAD NEWS – it’s not for sale.’

Well if the co-owner is a petrol head it can be seen as good news, he surely is going drive it around and perhaps bring it to shows ???

Did you pay any attention to that Nissan Fairlady/300ZX in the 4th photo ?

Some other interesting (would you call them future or modern classic ??) stuff there, Xeodos 9, Legend, celica...

Thousands and thousands of classic cars, many of which were in perfect motoring order, went to their Maker in the recent UK scrap page scheme. Lots of them ended up being stored at airfields around the country awaiting their fate, shameful!
