    Hi,

I want to upload my CV on boards to get advice from other posters how do I go about doing it.

I don't want to have to re-write the whole thing.

    Any advice?

Well you could just copy-paste it to a new thread BUT i am not 100% if that goes against forum rules, for privacy etc.

Try asking one of our mods, for Work & Jobs :)

OK I finally figured out how to do it thanks for all who replied to my original post.

Please have a peruse through it and let me know what you think.

I am looking for brutally honest opinions so don't hold back on any criticism you may have on anything in my CV.

    Thanks.

    My opinion:

Remove the personal profile. Put this stuff in your cover letter.

Put the experience section before the education section.

Remove the stuff about your illness. You can briefly mention in your cover letter you took a break from employment for a few years. The world is a horrible place so I really think you need to refrain from mentioning you have a severely debilitating, chronic, incurable illness. In a previous job I was told not to hire a guy because he had a disability. I know you will have to mention your illness at some stage but I think the best place to bring it up is in the interview.

There are some weird grammar issues. For example, "Responsible for maintaining the company’s books this entailed the following". Get a family member or friend to proof read it.

Personally I would remove the bit about Japanese role playing games because it makes me think of S&M bukkake, but maybe I'm weird.

    Thanks for the insight.

Yes I agree with you on not mentioning the illness bit, I thought of it also but, then thought how will I explain the employment gap and decided to put it in. My friends and family also told me not to mention my illness.

Thanks for the reply and should others have more advise I will be more than willing to accept it and update my CV with everything useful.

I normally wouldn't say something like this, but if the illness is no longer an issue I would consider lying. Perhaps you spent X years in China teaching English.

It would be a shame if a previous illness prevented you from getting a job.

I'm not a big fan of lying, what are the chances of being caught.

Suppose that the potential employer wants to check out that I have been teaching in China, very possible these days with the internet I reckon.
