If you repeat final exams in August, do you graduate later than other students?

I've just completed my final year of social science in NUI Maynooth. However due to 2 awful sociology exams worth 5 credits each, I'm pretty sure I've either failed or not got the 2:1 I need.

If I repeat the exams do I graduate later than everyone else?
Also, am I allowed to repeat if I do badly but don't fail in order to bring my grade up?
And finally, if I do repeat, will future colleges be able to see from my degree that I didn't get that mark first time around?

Really appreciate any advice from those who have knowledge about or have gone through the same in previous years.

    Thanks :)

You'd graduate during the October break, no biggie. You can repeat up to 15 credits (exam based) regardless of whether or not you failed and no one has to know if you do them in August as opposed to the next year :) (voice of experience here)

Just be careful as I'm pretty sure in the "marks and standards" waffle it says something (in the case of final year students repeating to improve their degree mark) about relinquishing the original mark for a module and accepting either 40% or the grade gotten on the repeat exam. So technically you could come out worse off.

Just make sure you study and it won't be an issue though.

And there'll be lots graduating later. St pats students and people doing postgrads and that. So you won't be lonely!

im afraid thats not the case. usually these special students get presented with yellow stars and have their graduation day next door in the local primary school sports hall. family and friends are invited where refreshments are provided such as red lemonade and ham and cheese sandwiches

Now I want red lemonade and ham and cheese sandwiches.

We used to get red lemonade with a bit of vanilla icecream dumped in it. Went all frothy. Very tasty.
