Found a female chaffinch this morning in the front garden. No visible signs of mauling by a cat and does not look like a youngster. Looks more dozy as if its eaten something bad. Have put it in a box with water and rags.
I know there can be a high mortality rate of garden birds due to diseases/cats etc, is there anywhere online I can check if someone would take the bird for better care or a person that has finichs my be better able to advise me what to give/ do with the bird.
I am based in Ashbourne but travel into city center every day.
