I know of BRS bookings as its adopted by my club but this looks like a new facility. It looks much better than the tradition GUI site that you searched for opens as this takes you directly to your chosen golf clubs booking page displaying price and competition type. You can filter competition types and locations too.

While it may look better (on the face of it) than the GUI site, but it only shows opens with clubs that use BRS, until they remendy this and show all opens, I can't see how it will rival the gui site.
E.g. I searched for scratch cups in munster on the BRS site and got only 5 results, while on the GUI site it had 4 pages with 20 clubs per page for the same criteria.

    Unfortunately neither is comprehensive.
For example I was looking for a local open last w/e and the GUI site had no mention of Charleville whereas the BRS site did
    Very annoying

You'll probably find that the brs site is pulling the open information from its list of registered clubs and their events throughout the year.

the only thing i don't like is haveing to pay up front, i prefer cash on the day :)

Any time I've had to use the BRS site to book it asked for card details but no payment was taken, just paid cash on the day as per usual.

    Same here
Or you can use BRS just to find the open and then ring the club directly :D
