I'd like to have a go at this one but it's the week after ROK so the state of my legs and whether or not I can get another pass out will decide whether I make it or not.

Did this last year and it was a fantastically run event and well worth it (the lovely warm sunny day was quite nice too)
the jersey is well worth the 15 quid too

I'll be there again. It's the only sportive that starts less than 15km from my front door, and I thought they did a great job of it last year. Great food before, during and after and a climb up the Muur d'Old Leighlin.

Daithi ..same here, on doorstep, didnt even realise this was held last year as i was away at the time. Was there much of a turnout for it last year. Planning to do the 100 k on mtb

Have got it pencilled in. Deenside have a sportive on this Saturday too from Castlecomer for those looking for local stuff.

Pretty good turnout for the 100 and 150, and I heard there were a lot there for the shorter distances as well. It was a really nice day which probably helped!

Looks like the weather isn't going to be too bad for this. Very misty and cold down here today, but meant to brighten up this evening. Hope to see a few boardsies on the road tomorrow.

I am most likely going. See you there.

Got a free pass out of nowhere and will be there. Weather looks to be better than today too. 150 or 100?

150! This time last year was the first time I ever did more than 120 on a bike, and it was fine. There's one short sharp climb at about 100km, but it's not too bad from there to home.

I need to be back home in Kilkenny by 3.30 or the free pass will be removed and never reissued. I'll sign up for the 150 and see how the time is running at the first stop in Castlecomer.

I'm off on a Saturday that's not part of a holiday for the first time this year, if there was a longer option, I would be doing it.

    Enjoy yourselves.

Not just off the street, down along the Canal towards Vicarstowwn.

Thanks. Just checked mapmyride too. It's at the place called Cardington off R428 next to canal. No doubt I'll be rushing tomorrow, so thanks.

Thank you all for the Fantastic Event. Really well organised from all angles. Congratulations Deenside Wheelers - well done and I will attend your events in the future.

I completed my mission in a better time that I originally expected, especially considering that 80km of the whole route I did on my very own (I only passed two nice ladies at the hill outside Old Leighlin).

It was great to meet all of you and I look forward to the next charity cycle.

    All The Best :).

Thanks to the organisers - a really well run event again. Nice route, lots of food en route, and a hot meal and showers at the end. All in aid of a good cause as well and the weather held off. Thanks to the Marble City train for dragging me round as well. The Mur de Old Leighlin does not get any easier.

Was great. I should have stayed with you lads for the rest. Had to go from lunch to the finish on my own which was windy! On the plus side I made it home for family commitments and 105k was all that I had in my legs. Thanks to Deenside for a well run event. Is captain still out there putting extra training in?

Just wish to say a big thank you to Deenside Wheelers for hosting such a well organised event last saturday. Everything was so well run.

Did the 100k, and a little more, missed turn off in at roundabout in Carlow towards Arles and went down to next one beforeturning around and heading back on track :)

Weather held up well...really enjoyable route - will defo to this one again...maybe on Road Bike next time, those long drawn out climbs better suited to a road bike than my MTB :)

Just adding my thanks to previous posters. Great and genuine warm welcome from everyone, even from lady who saw me yawning in the petrol station on the way home, and stopped to see that I was ok, and thank me for coming down to Athy. Did the 155km, and true to expectations, came in last. Was helped around the course by local gentleman Michael McL, a Deenwide Wheeler. Great applause when we arrived back, and was introduced to many Wheelers. Thanks to all, and hello to Daithi BC, who was also putting on sunblock that morning (with a fair degree of optimism that it would be needed) - it wasn't! Will definitely be back next year.

We had a good five minutes of sunshine on our way around!

Good to hear you enjoyed the day. See you next year, when hopefully we'll definitely need the sunblock.
