I've just noticed small little drops under my car and I'm wondering if its to do with the oil? Is this a major problem or is it something simple like a small leak that can be easily fixed?

Impossible question to answer unless you know where its coming from. That's if it even is engine oil, it may be transmission oil, brake fluid, coolant, power steering fluid etc etc

I've lost oil in past because turbo seals had gone.

Could also be water from the a/c condenser during the (brief) hot spells we get this time of year, perfectly normal if this is the case.

Check the breather pipe at the back of engine. Really common they leak on an a4.

Luckily its not a big deal as its only fumes building up, corroding and dripping.

Bend all pipes and see if they open . especially corrugated pipes.

Could be the smallest of cracks expanding when you drive then being impossible to find when parked. Bring it to a dealership if you dont find it id say. Could be the best few euro you ever spent if it saves you a fortune down the line.

If you want to be told half the engine needs replacing. A reputable independent garage is a much better option to have it checked out.

It could be any number of things. Get in on a lift and see can you spot anything. If you dont have access to a lift then take it to a good indy garage, explain what is happening and they will look for the source of the leak.

If you suspect it is oil/coolant etc check the levels before you drive the car to avoid causing damage.

I've just been to see the mechanic and told the turbo needs to be reconditioned! How much does it cost to recondition? It's a 01 a4 with 135000 miles
