I have a script for Varivax for my son.

    1. Is it something that would be in stock or will I need to order it?
    2. Rough price and if > €132 is it covered by DPS?
    3. Are there any storage issues? i.e. will I have to co-ordinate collecting it from the phrmacy and bringing it to my doctor.
    Thanks

    Hi lonestargirl.

I don't work in community pharmacy any more so my answers might not be up to date.

    1. Will probably have to be ordered. Most pharmacies get daily/twice daily deliveries though.
    2. Dunno the price, if it is above 132 you won't have to pay any extra provided it has a GMS number. If you are under financial pressure let your pharmacist know, I'm sure he/she will be accommodating.
    3. Needs to be stored in a fridge, if possible bring it straight from the pharmacy to your GP/clinic.

Ring or pop into your local pharmacy. I'm sure they'll be able to sort you out.

Something makes me think that Varivax is not covered by the DPS.
However I am fairly certain that even at full markup that the cost is less than €100. I thought €80 - €90.
And as the previous poster said you will have to order it from your pharmacy but it will be delivered within a day usually
