    Dear any future employer,

I am 20 years old. I am looking for a retail job in any store. I have excellent communications skills, time-keeping skills, I am very moviated to work hard. I have high standards on all work done. I am looking for part-time work or a summer job. I have no previous experience but I am so eager to learn. Please give me an chance. I have previous work experience in journalism and an pensions company.
    References on request.

    Kind regards,
    Aaron

Sorry Aaron wouldn't let you in the door until you learn to spell.

Aaron, to be honest, I would take this down ASAP. The post is replete with spelling and grammar mistakes, and does not speak well of you (reading between the lines).

Further, as you used your real name, location of your future college, as well as age, any future prospective employer who conducts a Google search will find this thread. This will probably diminish your worth to any employer, especially as you say:

I have excellent communications skills, time-keeping skills, I am very moviated to work hard. I have high standards on all work done

    Just my two cents worth.

    Careful now!

He only wants a job stacking shelves... you dont need to spell for that. Some of the hoops you have to jump through to get a , lets face it, piss easy job are silly. You dont need a degree to stack shelves.

I'd give you a job if I could lad!

Kind words won't put food on the table. You should listen to the earlier advice, and pull this thread. It doesn't reflect well on you and I'm not sure what you hope to accomplish.

I don't think it looks particularly bad for OP for a job stacking shelves, but I would be more concerned with the personal information he originally divulged on an open internet site. Now that the post has been edited its better, but its still fairly easy to guess what your first name and surname are!

I do commend you Aaron on your willingness to try something different to secure a job - it shows you are proactive and willing to work. I hope you find something.

send a CV to, or ask for an application form from, every retailer you can think of.
make calls to HR departments if they have phone numbers for external applicants.
you have to show initiative and do the legwork yourself.

retailers aren't going to be reading random fora looking for workers.
