I'd take the German Cube over the British Boardman any day ;)

Definitely the Cube. The Cube is prettier, the Cycle SuperStore staff are superb and (the clincher for me) the Ultegra kit is superior to the 105.

I missed that, I thought they were both carbon fibre frames. :o

I would definately go with the carbon frame!

So the frame on the Cube even though it has a real scientific name is inferior to a full carbon frame as in the boardman:D

Get your sizing right whichever you choose. Cube frames are small relative to stated size. Try them out.

I know it doesn't make things any easier, but I really don't think you can judge whether a frame is better from the materials or technical specification.

They are very close, ignoring the frame material issue, the ultegra gear would swing it for me. The boardman frame is on the heavy side for carbon AFAIK so weight saving is not an issue here as I presume the cube frame is lighter judging by the overall weight figures: 8.1kg v 8.25kg.
Having said that I own a boardman team carbon (though it is a 2010 model which is lighter at 7.9kg) and have nothing but praise for them. And to further muddy the waters.....you can get a 15% discount in Halfords if you produce an Axa or an Aon insurance policy, I think this offer is still available but check to make sure.

15% discount IS still available on production of Axa card or policy.

Unfortunately I don't know anyone with an AXA or AON insurance policy. If anyone would be willing to share their pol number for it let me know:D. I am a loyalty customer with the CSS so would receive a 7.5% discount their which isn't too bad.

When will Halfords release next years stock would anyone know, or do they usually have mid summer sales on current stock? I might hold off if they usually have a sale mid summer or reduce the prices of 2012 stock when next years arrive

New season bikes usually come out around September or October. Shortly after the Interbike show. Last seasons bikes start to get discounted then also, leading up to Christmas.
