Car Key- Battery Required

Hi, I have a Volkswagen Golf (Yr 06) and the battery in the key is dead. I believe that it would be expensive to go through a car dealers to replace this. Is there any other way of replacing the battery in the key?

Halfords or your local motor factors will have them. Also might get them at a jewellers.

any decent locksmith will have them too. couple of euro for one. is yours a flip key type?
they are pretty easy to change

Think I paid €10 for a battery for a ford key in a ford dealership.

I paid 3.50 for a battery for a 04 mondeo key in the locksmith. fitted it myself but if I wanted they would have fitted it for free
