Problems with moving claim

Hi.My boyfriend and I have just moved in together in a different area in Dublin and last week we went to our new Social Welfare office to switch our payments over.We were told they would call us by the end of the week to tell us when our money would be in the post office but, having heard nothing from them we went back in today to see what the story is.The lady we spoke to said that my claim had been switched but my boyfriend's hasn't and that she didn't know why.She suggested going back up to our old social welfare office and talking to them. When we went the lady that my boyfriend spoke to said that it has nothing to do with them, told him to go back to our new social welfare office and that she was suspending his payment. So back we went to the new one.The man he spoke to asked if he had put in his information. He told him that he had and the man said that there was nothing he could do and he'd have to "wait and see".
Nobody can give us any answers. We don't know what is going on.Does anybody know what we should do or if there is anybody that we can call to get this sorted out?

Op there should never have been a problem with moving your or your BF claim as you both did the right thing

He needs to go back down to the social welfare office - where you are now - with all his info again and tell them that his claim has been suspended in the last office as he has moved and it needs to be transferred over to this new office, dont ramble about what has happened just start again and once they have your info and have listened then hit them with it that this happened when you tried to change it already and that your claim was moved so what was the problem with his??

Also make sure you speak to an actual person at a window rather than just the receptionist

what a nightmare for you, best of luck with all and keep us up to date as to how you get on

    peace and love x

Thank you for your reply.I got a call from them today saying that my payment would be in the new office next week and i tried to ask him about my boyfriend's claim he said that he doesn't deal with claims with surnames beginning with that letter and there's nothing they can do because the old office won't answer the phone. If we don't hear from them by the end of the week we'll go back in and try it your way. Thanks very much for your help,it is greatly appreciated.
