    Hi all,

I'm looking to buy a decent USB condenser microphone for home recording of acoustic guitar and vocals. I've heard good things about the Apogee Mic but are there any other brands / models I should consider? If so would appreciate any help.

    Thanks.

for a first mic id suggest the studio electronics 2200a (or whatever the latest version of it is). i bought one as a cheap mic for throwing down ideas a few years back and it surprised the hell out of me. i've sometimes even used it in commercial sessions. its never going to compete with a high end mic but it sounds an awful lot more expensive than the price suggests! you'd pick one up for about 150/200 i think.
