Not sure what's happening. There's ladies' racing booked in from 7.30pm-8.30pm, and the open race is booked in for 7pm-9pm. Ladies' racing starts at 6.45pm (according to Facebook), which probably means it'll be done by 7.45pm?

If then the open race takes the same format as the last two, it'll be A1/A2 racing at 8pm, and A3/A4 at 9pm. I dropped a text to the number listed on IrishCycling to see if this was the case, but no response yet.

All of the above is my idle speculation. YMMV, etc. :D

Maybe enfield might be a better option sounds a bit messy

I believe the ladies are having one single combined race starting at 6.45pm to ensure they are clear of the track by 7.15/7.25pm with the mens racing starting at 7.30pm. So if that's the case either A3/4 off at 7.30pm or 8.30pm depending on whether they start the A1/2 first or second.

I don't know if racing will go ahead in the event of rain though?

Why woulc this be cancelled because of rain?

Congrats to Plastik on getting in the prizes, great stuff!

Was a strong field out there, or else I was just knackered after showing up a few seconds late and having to chase onto the A3 bunch (actually being A3 this time ). Surface was great despite the wet - no crashes or slippyness that I experienced*.

Thought at times I might get away, but I think there might still be some Dun na nGall in my legs. Outside the prizes, probably 8th or 10th over the line. Peterx looking strong out there too.

*One collision after the line due to rider confusion. Some nasty road rash, but both riders walked away.

Thanking you, was surprised to see you out there after the weekend you put down! Kirwan from Lucan won it outright, I was first unplaced A4.

Great track, even in the wet there's huge grip in the corners. That start/finish line rise gets steeper and steeper every lap you do!

Really enjoyed the race, the legs needed a good work out and they got, only one or two hairly moments a bit of shoulder rubbing, but that crash was crazy, then rider who was getting a ear full from someone who will remain nameless

Shouldn't forget to say, thanks to SDCC for putting on the open races. Getting the track was a hell of an achievement, and I'm surprised by the low turn out at the races, given how close it is to the city.

I know with the handicaps, it can be challenging for the lower cats (especially today, trying to hang on to A1/2), but it's safe cycling - at least car and pothole free!

Sounds great, any more races planned on this track for the near future?

Leinster 3 day next week will have one night on it. After that there's nothing in the calendar except the ladies' racing.

I will happily help organise a round there for the men some other night then Tuesday (assuming insurance details can be sorted via a club). Essentially it takes 3 people to run a race there.

I believe it costs 30e to have the use of the track officially for 2 hours?

Getting your club to host a race and then organising it yourself is one way to get the use of the track.
The women's commission have done that and are sharing the workload between the participating clubs.

Corkagh Park track is a brilliant addition and should be in use every week.
One category only events would be brilliant too. the A4 and the A2 tend to get lumped in with A3 and A1 too often.

I did enjoy the handicap race on Tuesday but hanging on to the coattails is not quite the same as racing.
