Hey Im currently looking for work abroad, I am a qualified electrician with 8 years experience and am in the middle of doing a Degree in Electronic Engineering. I want to move to Canada hopefully next year and am wondering the best way to find a job. Are there any good agencies that take care of everything or should I look up jobs in Canada myself and apply directly.
If anyone has any information I would be very grateful.:)

You should apply for a permanent residencey, it will open more doors for you. you can apply online at www.gc.ca even send an e mail to an attorney who can assess your credentials for free, www.canadavisa.com Your occupation is in demand and should you choose to go with a company they will have your visa and you may be unable to switch companies if you are unhappy. besides if you get a one or two year visa it can be a bit messy applying for residencey when you are in canada. your choice of course

Do you not have to be living in Canada first to apply for permanent residency?

No you can apply from home. its on an assessment basis. you dont necessary need an official qualification as they are more interested in work experience in your field.
