If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is!

He is a lawyer and is looking for a personal assistant to work unsupervised, and he will employ you without an interview or any more information about you? Right.

IF you meet him, make sure it is somewhere public, and you have a friend quietly keeping an eye on the situation. But personally, I wouldn't bother.

Without a doubt its a scam - don't take it any further.

This ' lawyer ' has never met you but will let you issue cheques in his absence ?? Utter nonsense.

There were a lot of responses of this nature to job hunters on "Craigslist" basically what happened was the applicant was told "I can't make it to the meeting however we will reimburse your travel expenses to attend for interview in XXXXXX. Please forward your bank details so we can arrange to deposit the money in your account" Guess what happened next!
Now I'm not saying you have been contacted by a similar con artist however I would advise that you treat the whole thing with a great deal of caution.
    Good luck with the search

This is 100% a scam. In fact, I would take a bet for $15,000,000 (FIFTEEN MILLION DOLLARS MY GOD FEARING FRIENDS) that this is a scam.

Defo a scam. He will either look for money off you for some crazy reason or else he will ask to use your bank account to deposit funds so as he can launder money stolen from credit card or other people in some way.

Cut all contact, as the other poster said if its too good to be through it usually is a scam.

if he is not meeting in person and will not sign some sort of employment contract its a scam....
try as you will, im sure he wont be forthcoming with company register name, possibly his social security number or any type of information so as to cross reference him which I'm sure you will not be getting.......its probably a scam, unless you can get official confirmation of who he is and what he does it seems like your going to be taken for a ride.

If he is a lawyer or a barrister, he can be found on barcouncil.ie or other such websites.
