    hi all

    does anyone know good ways to improve confidence?
    im a bit shy in groups etc. i wont go into it all but would joining something be good like hill walking or read books on self confidence etc. be good?
    or what would be the best type of hobby to take up. im open to anything really to get more confident and chatty..

    dedicated , consistent meditation where you constantly try and improve it , lengthen it, and even master it would be a good start.

    It reduces fear due to an increased ability to see things the way they actually are as oppose to how you are perceiving them in your head.

    See if there is a branch of Toastmasters near you. They are very supportive and will help you find the confidence to talk in public in a very friendly and unstressful way. Google Toastmasters International. The website is very American based and seems a bit over the top with their methods, you would find the Irish version much more toned down. You do have to pay but you can do a couple of weeks before you decide.
