I'm looking to buy a new battery for my electric golf trolley. It's a MOCAD model but I don't like the small 22ah batteries they supply, they seem to run down very quickly. I'd prefer a longer lasting 24 - 28ah type. Do motor factor shops carry these? Anyone with any ideas?

    Thanks.

A 24Ah will hardly last any longer - 10% longer so you'll hardly notice the difference.

How often do you charge yours..........it should last a full round so why not just charge it after every round?

You should be able to use any battery that physically fits in the space. You will prob need to soulder on the old connections to your new battery, but that's abt it.
I will be doing that with mine soon

Batteries seem to have a mind of their own! A couple of years back I had a battery which seemed to last forever, but lately I don't get a year out of them.

I've always charged it after every round, but I must admit that I've sometimes left it charging with the intention of playing golf within the next day or so, but then couldn't make it. I know this is not good for the life of any battery, but I doubt it's the only reason for such a short life span!

Btw irish bloke, what type of battery will you go for? I'm told that they must be sealed or jel type. What size ah will you go for and where will you get it from?

    Thanks!

Will go for a 36Ah or a 40Ah, whatever I can fit in.Just be aware it will take a little longer to charge.

I presume you mean sealed vs unsealed. Gel is better then lead acid but is more expensive. Sealed is prob best if its gonna be thrown around alot in the boot of your car.

Will start with motor factors and prob end up buying from the net as usual..
