    Hi

I have someone offering me a Panasonic CF 29. It has several negatives as in it is only 1gb ram but positives are that it can last a long time. It is made for people who will be using laptop in a rough area. I only need it in home.

My question is that he is offering it to me for 300 euro. I know feck all about laptops so I am just wondering am I getting ripped off here? Its is second hand

    Cheers!

Don't buy it. It was always a ridiculously overpriced laptop just because it was in a tough case. If you don't need it to be tough, then forget it. You'd get a very decent new laptop with 3/4GB RAM and core i3 processor.

Oh I see. That bumps the price up to 400 dollars which is near enough to 300 euro so The offer he is giving me seems fair enough.

Like I said it has its benefits considering I have never had a laptop last me more than a year. Only problem is watching movies online etc... has its buffering considering its only 1gb gram. Also When I do UPC speed test on it I am only getting 12 where as other laptops in house are getting 40.

It's old, processor is very poor, RAM is inadequate, graphics is practically non existent. And I bet it has a tiny hard drive. The RAM and hard drive can be upgraded, but that all adds to the cost. It's seriously a ridiculously over priced laptop for what it is.

I very much doubt it would handle even youtube correctly, you'd have to let us know in more detail what the specs were. But tbh, what i've said above still stands. The processor is guaranteed to be ancient.

    OP

Forget about that Panny, grab this Lenovo instead

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Lenovo-Notebook-Pentium-Windows-Premium/dp/B0056PDKUQ/ref=sr_1_4?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1338840612&sr=1-4

Free delivery on that + superb customer service if something goes wrong.

Interesting to find out that no import tax is charged until the value reaches €150.

When enquiring about a current purchase from the States..

"Duty result is nil because the total value of your products does not exceed €150.00"

    :)

    Nice site, thanks.

Sorry for hi-jacking this thread. I am looking and getting a new laptop, I know windows 8 is out soon and the laptops in the shops all have windows 7 on them. Would it be worth holding off to closer the windows 8 launch and see if the prices of the windows 7 laptops comes down?
