I would find out the dealer for the make and model of your strimmer and order it through them.
The ring might be the right diameter but a different thickness.
They usually go by bore size.
I would also replace both of them, not just one.
Why was the ring broken? Its not that common unless it was very worn and the ring caught a port.
How old is the engine and has it done much work?

I dont know the make and model. its about 4 years old and has done a good bit of work. never used the twine head just the metal blade.

It wasnt a very expencive yoke but i thought it would be worth a gamble replacing the rings to see if it would work again

get a calipers, make sure all the measurements match, replace all of the rings since they dont cost too much.also check the cylinder for scoring as that will also cause you to lose compression, if the cylinder is damaged its probabaly not worth saving.
