    Hi,

    So I have a nice Dell XPS that I would like to insure, as I recently moved out and it I dont have household insurance on the new place.

    Whats the best way to insure my PC against theft/accidental damage?

    I'd like to insure it through Dell but it seems like I should have done that when I bought it

    No you shouldn't have. Buying insurance at the point of sale is usually a mega waste of money because you have done no research and you take whatever crap policy is put in front of you without studying what you're buying.

    If you buy insurance from the people who sell you the item, all they do is sell you a policy through some dodgy insurance company and take a large slice of the premium. Their priority is to maximize their commission which usually involves you buying a policy that has as many exclusions as possible, mobile phone insurance being a case in point.
