    i will be applying for a grant in june for 2012/2013 as an independant mature student but i recieved a gift of a house worth 45,000 euro in may2011 which will be taken into account according to the old grant system. since this house is my primary residence (not rented out, no income from it) does anyone know how it will be assesed? im on social welfare so getting the grant is very important

    (6) If any of the persons whose income is under consideration received gifts
    or inheritances in the reference period, these are included in reckonable
    income, unless—
    (a) in the case of an independent student, the gifts or inheritances were
    between the applicant and his or her spouse, civil partner or cohabitant;
    or
    (
    b) in the case of a dependent student, the gifts or inheritances were
    between parents or to the applicant from his or her parent(s).

    Have you contacted susi support?

    It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

    no, do they deal with questions? ive never heard of them

    im confused because the forms were signed in 2010 but the deeds didnt come through till 2011 so im assuming they will assess the house as a gift
