I have been employed for the summer in the US by a company who are paying me directly into my Irish bank account. They want everything
to be above board and so want that income to be taxed in Ireland. I am clueless as to how to declare this money and was wondering how I go about doing this without an employer PAYE number etc. I also know that ultimately I would not be taxed on this money as it is only 8 weeks work and would not breach any income threshold liable to tax.

    Any help would be great.

    Thanks in advance!

If the employment duties are in Ireland your employer is oblidged to register and account for Irish PAYE and PRSI etc.

If the duties are in the US then you will be taxed on the income that you remit or bring into the country.

If you are Irish tax resident and domiciled you will be taxed on your worldwide income irregardless of where it is earned.

To the extent that you suffer US taxes you can claim a credit in your Irish tax return for these taxes suffered and an effective rate calculation may be required.

PM me if you want a hand
