Are the library services still unavailable?

Following in the the usual vein of incompetence I've gotten use to expect, the services of our library(website, book loans, book returns) appear to still be on the blink.

I made an hour round trip from home to the library to take out a book and return another only to be told in a unhelpful, unfriendly, half arsed manner that neither transactions could occur as the system is down and its unknown when it be up and running again.

The library phone number 091 493399 is ringing out, maybe some student has been in there in the last day or two and can thrown a bit of light on the current condition of the system. Or maybe suggest a different contact phone number; although NUIG policy seems to be all phones must remain unanswered.

Given that today is a bank holiday they may not be open? I can't confirm this, obviously, as the website is down... but hopefully tomorrow you might have more luck.

ISS were doing work in the college data centre over the weekend. It's likely that one of the library systems (hosted there) was affected and hasn't been restored to normal use as it's a public holiday weekend and library staff aren't available. As most library services aren't run by ISS they won't have been able to fix them themselves. The library website appears to be down which would be a pretty good indication that I'm right.

Has anyone tried accessing journal articles through JSTOR?
I can get online and into my library account, but I can't access any of the papers I need.
I've mailed an enquiry to the library but it usually takes them a few days to reply.

I'm having no trouble accessing journals, have you been able to access them before? If you want, I can get them for you if you PM me the links.

I'm having trouble getting onto jstor now, I can't sign it with my college account. Anyone know a way around it?

Not really, I had to get in touch with their helpdesk and something had indeed gone wrong with my account (though I could still sign in, borrow books etc) so it had to be 're-activated' before I could access any journals.
If you have an understanding lecturer they might get specific papers for you? Mine did while I was waiting for a fix.
If you're desperate, PM me and I could get a few pdfs from my account and email them to you when I get a chance?
