    Hi!

I am trying to decide between these two cars. I like the looks and size of the Outlander, especially the additional row of seats but the interior and extras of the CX-5 like the digitally controlled air con, the gps, the sensors for parking etc.

Also, there is a lot of talk that the CX-5 in quite fuel-efficient.

Had a 2010 outlander and it wasn't great. Fuel economy from the vw engine was pretty bad. Average of about 27 mpg. Paint quality was appalling. You could scratch the paint with your finger nail. Very bad quality body panels very light metal and interior trim was cheap. It was reliable though

Thanks for that! Te one I have in mind is the 2011 model with the 2.2 l Peugeot engine which supposedly is much better. I test-drove it and in sport mode I manages to outrace a motorbike :)

I'd love an Outlander with all the gadgets the CX-5 has.

Wow I was getting close to 40mpg on my 2007 Outlander. Agree with the rest of your comments though. Great interior and boot space. I had a black one and it drove me mad. A new scratch or scrape appeared every day!

    .

    Two things:

First: I test drove a 2007 Outlander inside the last two weeks: OMG, awful. Slow, noisy, cheap, nasty interior. When I got back to the sales guy he asked me what I thought: I told him it couldn't get me back to the car park quick enough, it was that bad. He laughed. It would take a lot more than a Peugeot engine to fix that car. Just awful. Then he gave me the keys of span new 12-reg Kia Sportage. Ooooh, now that, that was nice.......bloody great value, too. 27k straight, for a span-new, all bells & whistles one......tempting.

Second: Outrace a motorbike ? Oh, puhleez. Not any bike built since..........1930. If you want a car that's bike-quick, the only Mitsubishi you'll be looking for will have EVO xxx written on it.........and that def ain't diesel......

“And my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, generates funds to the exchequer. You don't want to acknowledge that as truth because, deep down in places you don't talk about at the Green Party, you want me on that road, you need me on that road. We use words like freedom, enjoyment, sport and community. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent instilling those values in our families and loved ones. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the tax revenue and the very freedom to spend it that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise I suggest you pick up a bus pass and get the ********* ********* off the road”

Op had an outlander for a while but it chewed through a few turbos soended up getting a refund on it.

I liked it... but i also had the 4007, i'd choose that over an Outlander.
