New Double Deckers on BE Expressway?

I'm seeing ads on Billboards between Ballinasloe and Galway, and the ads on the bottom of these threads advertising new Double Decker buses on the Expressway routes. Have BE got in a load of new stock? I know that Double decks have been used by BE on a lot of the commuter belt routes around Dublin but I've never seen any this side of the Shannon?

    This too shall pass.

It looks like they are now going to compete with Iarnrod Eireann, they are advertising more leg room & WIFI.

They will hammer them on time if they intend a direct interurban service.

I have seen those ads while going pass, one of the Dublin Bus shelters in Lower Mount Street, on the peak 120 bus from the RDS to Ashtown. (Although normally, it's terminus is based in Parnell Street).

Four coaches in the new Double Deck fleet is being utilised on the Dublin to Belfast route (Route 1), and eventually four more coaches on the Dublin to Galway (Route 20/X20) will be placed in the summer.

There are some pics here on the new buses from Dublin to Belfast.

I see the "Expressway" fleet name is making a return to Bus Éireann buses - it has only been used in print advertising for the past few years, since they changed from the all caps logo to mixed case (about 2000) I think.

What differences are there between the new double deck coaches in the Bus Eireann fleet and the older LD coaches already being used on several commuter routes apart from slightly different paint job and different seat colours??

Threre's tables at some seats and power points at all seats. Plus a better view :)

Are you sure? I thought the tables were only on a couple of the new single deck super-coaches on the Cork route and power points were only at the first two rows of seats on the new commuter coaches(total 4 plug points)?

I also would have thought those double deck coaches are also not really suitable for expressway services due to the restricted luggage capacity?

Does anyone have pictures of inside the new buses?

limited luggage capacity would be a MAJOR issue on the route from the airport to belfast and with an extra 20 / 30 passengers thats a potential extra 30 to 50 suitcases.

Surely these are a different spec to the commuter coaches in that regard and have proper luggage capacity?

Afaik they have the same high up awkward luggage locker as the other double deck coaches but there is a second one on the other side of the coaches which of course could only be used while the coach was parked at an appropriate bay within the safety of a bus station under the supervision of Bus Eireann staff.
