i have been looking at springers for the last few weeks, i have found a very well bred springer 10 months old, but also found a litter of springers 2 months old, not sure if il get a pup, or a dog that has gone from the pup stage and is ready for a bit of serious work. pros with a pup is you can train them and bond with them from an early age, pros with the 10mth is she will be able to do a good bit of work this coming season.

Anyone have any input i might not have thought of

myself id go for the 10 month old, he/she will bond just as fast if you spend the time. You'll get some shooting with him this coming season and you'll not have to wait as long to see if he makes the grade compared to a pup.training can start straight away, but hey that's just me. Best of luck whatever way you go.

this totally depends on you , 10 month old dog is great you will have her for the season , and best of all she nearly fully grown so you know what she looks like , weathers she a gud hardy bitch of a small stylish type , instead of waiting .

you have to get bonding straight away you cant take the chance bringin her out and just letting her off , start with lead work so she dont get to far from ya , but like everthing all ya need is a bit of luck .

saying that , best of luck with your purchase and happy hunting
