Saorview box - HD query...

I've set-up a saorview box for people I know. The saorview box came with a HDMI cable but as there television is scart only, naturally I've used a scart connection.
Unless someone can clear this up, I don't see why after the scan channel installation etc. that RTE two will come up as HD. Is RTE broadcast as HD as standard on saorview or is this an error in the set-up or box?

Thanks in advance for help :)

RTE2 is broadcast as RTE2HD via Saorview.

Thanks for reply. So if someone does not have a HD tv, they receive HD but it just normal picture I'd imagine?

The box automatically downscales HD to SD for SCART cables.

As you say RTE2 is only in HD on Saorview, but you won't get the HD experience on small TVs or via the SCART. Also not that many programs are not in true HD.

The only shows in true HD seem to be new foreign shows and some outside sport broadcasts. RTE has not upgraded their TV studios for live HD shows yet.
