Hello, so I have to find work, however I only know that in my area employers are seeking some employees in Dunnes Store, I applied my cv and I waiting, however I dont know how does job looks ? What is your duties ? I applied for Shop Assistant, did somebody working actually in this brand? I have 20 years old, I dont know maybe its not enough to get this job?

Also what you can recommend for a job for 20 yrs old guy, without any good experiance being in cashier and so on...I was thinking to applied a cv in:

    TK MAXX
    PENNEYS
    CENTRA
    or River Island

So as u see all those stores are clothes and fashion shops brand (except centra) I was thinking about applying for Shop Retail / Shop Assistant, does somebody works, how it looks workin as Shop Retailer ?:P

There are a few possibilities. In drapery in Dunnes you could be working in goods in (bringing in deliveries, chekcing them off, sorting leftovers into appropriate stockrooms, tidying stockrooms, taking bins and hanger bins from tills and emptying them). However far more likely to be on the sales floor. This means working on tills and on the floor tidying and taking returns from fitting room back to their places on the floor. If part-time, this is all you would be doing. If full-time, much less tidying and returns. You would be on deliveries mainly, getting the new stock onto the floor, merchandising it, and on tills. This is the same for all departments- kids, ladies, home etc.

If grocery you can be one of three things- checkout staff who do not do anything else, floor staff- stacking shelves, on deliveries etc. or goods in, again bringing in deliveries etc.

Penneys will operate the exact same way, almost identically. TK Maxx also quite similar as they are also a big department store. River Island on a much smaller scale.

If you don't have experience you are best off concentrating on places like Dunnes, Tesco, Supervalu, Penneys. High street retailers really do want experience and are very unlikely to take you.

Dunnes have a reputation as a terrible employer. It does depend on the store really. I have worked for them for 3.5 years and will not work for them again. They also are extremely unlikely to renew your contract beyond 6 months and make you permanent, especially in a small quiet store, as at the moment they are not making anyone permanent.

i work for dunnes stores in galway, the dairy section,, and to be honnest i actualy love it.. i worked for marks and spencers (concidered a way better employer) and i didnt get any freedom to think "that needs doin il go do that" they give you time slots to do certain jobs and even if they dnt need doin you have to pretend to do it.. realy thick to be honest. in dunnes i basicly run the dairy section gettin to change things move things and get total freedom to do wat ever needs doing.. recently there was a change in managment, the new guys are great.. far better then the last dude... iv bin bumped up to my maximum contracted hours and now an then ovr it.. dunnes may be a bad company to work for but if u get a good manager i think it can be far better then a company with a better name and bad managers...
