Wisdom tooth extraction on medical card

Is there the option of getting out to sleep while getting a wisdom tooth extracted on the medical card? I got a molar removed a couple of years ago whichtook the dentist almost 10 gruelling minutes to get out and I really don't want to be awake if that happens again!
