    Hi,
I was buying car yesterday, all was good until i asked about log book.Seller brought me log book where new owners page was filled with his name and adresse. Car was already registered on his name and he filled new owners page again with the same details.

So question is can I just delete(cover) his name and adresse or i need new log book?

I didn't bought car just because of this issue.

    Appreciate any help.

As long as the cert had his name printed on the other side of the cert then youre ok, it's alright to tippex over the writing and put your details in, you'd be surprised how many people put their own details in.

    Why did he do that?

You can just tipex over it and re write it.

i've done this twice before without any issue's after people pulled out of sales.

Edit: i'd be more concerned ast to why he signed his name and address on the back of the book.

Guy selling car didn't know how the log book looks.First he brought log book from his new car and ask me if this the book i looking for:)

He signed the same details adresse and name( i checked his ID) on new owners page.Hi didn't know that he should not do that.

    Limerick man:
Why you would concerned about seller filling his details on the back of the book?

I'd be concerned if the 'book' (registration cert) wasn't in the sellers name

    Appreciate very quick response.

I checked registration cert against his driving license and name and adresse matched.

Nothing to worry about if the rest of the car is up to scratch.

Only dodgy thing was,car was at his brothers house.Seller lives in apartment block and has only one parking space for his new car .That's what he told me.

    Maybe I'm just paranoid :)
