RIP, a great actress who never got the big role she deserved. Thought it was really brave of her to do her cancer storyline in DH considering she was going through it for real IRL

Ah she was great, in the West Wing and even though Desperate Housewives was not a show I kept loyal track of, I watched the last few eps and she was great in it. RIP

She will always be Mrs Landingham to me, the only person to put manners on Jed Bartlett.

    RIP Kathryn

She was the scene stealer in DH for me, always billed as a guest star even though she was in most of all the seasons

She was in an episode of The Mentalist this season and looked very sick, as said above very brave of her to portray a character dying on cancer on DH given her own fate

    RIP

Was probably my favourite character in DH - never knew she was fighting cancer for real.

And of course her role in the West Wing. Bartlett's speech in "Two Cathedrals" is one of the most powerful in the show (in any show really), but it would have been far less effective if it hadn't concerned a character as memorable and likeable as Landingham, something Joosten provided.

    RIP.

Very sad news - her work in the West Wing in particular and TV in general was first class. RIP

A snippet from The West Wing which shows why she garnered so much respect for the role of Mrs. Landingham:

You are the type of what the age is searching for, and what it is afraid it has found. I am so glad that you have never done anything, never carved a statue, or painted a picture, or produced anything outside of yourself! Life has been your art. You have set yourself to music. Your days are your sonnets.

―Oscar Wilde predicting Social Media, in The Picture of Dorian Gray
