Lack of 071s? They could have used one off the tara links as it's the weekend.

The trip was a private chartered booking and when booked it was intended for and rostered to have steam haulage on the day. Sadly, both 461 and 186 are temporarily indisposed and as a result of this being the case, many of the passengers have declined to travel on the day. On this basis, the decision was taken to cancel what would have been a loss making trip for both parties.

There is a diesel mystery tour coming up on Saturday 23rd June so you can settle your GM withdrawals around then :) Details on booking are on the RPSI website.

What is the problem with 186? Did the vandals do further damage other than the spraypaint?

It ran into some mechanical problems on the 3 day tour, unfortunately it looks like these will not be able to be fixed in Dublin and it will need to be returned to whitehead for repairs.

That's a shame. She has been so reliable over the last few years. Nothing too serious I hope.

As I understand it, it is not to serious and 186 should be able to move light engine under its own steam. It is just unfortunate that the RPSI does not have the necessary facility in Dublin.
